I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through Christ whom strengthens me. Phil 4:12-13
Happiness is situational and circumstantial. We feel happy if things go well, hearing good news, passing a difficult test, winning at sports etc.
Apostle Paul had joy in his heart which is relational. The relationship is a personal one on one relationship with Jesus. Joy provides peace of mind and enables us to get through life’s difficult times.
What gets in the way of joy is sin because God cannot bless you if you’re living in sin. Yes, he still loves you, but you cannot receive prosperity from God while having a secret life of sin. It’s like oil and water.
Joy is eternal for those who call Jesus Lord and Savior. Confess or agree when you sin from time to time and avoid living in sin.
