Confess, that’s all!

If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 1 John 1:6

Earlier in my walk with Christ I used to feel guilty a lot because I would sin from time to time or be in sin for some period of time. I would confess, meaning to agree in Greek, but I still had a guilty conscience.

What I did was take action to strengthen my daily walk with God. My prayer life became central to my daily activities and I learned to avoid certain areas that might lead to sin. Over the years as I lived above, in thought and prayer, my relationship to Jesus expanded as he totally understood my situation.

The reality is that Jesus paid our sin debt in full on the cross. What this means is that our past, present and future sins were all forgiven, once and for all. There is no condemnation for those In Christ Jesus.

When we sin we simply agree with God that we sinned and move forward avoiding that sin in the future. In addition, we avoid living in sin or practicing sin. God cannot answer our prayers if we are living ungodly lives. We must remove the sins that cloud our relationship to God if we want to reap the blessings of a godly life In Christ.

If you desire a righteous life In Christ just obey his commands which are written in your heart as well as in His Word.
