“…observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go …”1 Kings 2:3
In the eyes of the world prosperity means success and wealth. How one achieves that “success” is not usually questioned. In the eyes of God prosperity means to live in love and peace, and with God and one’s neighbor.
It comes about as a result of:
1. Obedience to God”We are God’s glory, when we follow his ways.”Florence Nightingale
2. Being faithful to God. In the parable of the talents Jesus used exactly the same words to commend that servant who had used wisely the five talents as he did when he commended the servant who had used wisely only two talents.
“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness.”Matthew 25:21, and 23 Likeness to Jesus.
Jesus is the fulfilment of God’s law.”It is not great talents God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy minister is an aweful weapon in the hand of God.”- Robert Murray M’Cheyn
