“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:11–13

There are many people who think that salvation is a complicated process. These are the people who are not satisfied that you understand Jesus unless you undergo a long and boring series of classes, testing and seminars.

Let me tell you something, God has made this very simple for all of humanity. The way to salvation is by BELIEVING IN JESUS!

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:19

The reality is that to come to Holy God you must let go of personal sin. We all know these sins: sleeping around, violence, crime, anger, not loving your neighbor, not forgiving someone, addictions etc. There are thousands of ways to avoid Jesus, but one way to have an eternal relationship with Him.

Simply BELIEVE IN HIM. I know you’re probably thinking that anyone can say they believe in Jesus and still LIVE IN SIN. Here is the way to know you are saved: CONTINUALLY STRIVE TO OBEY GOD’s COMMANDS This does not mean that you will never sin again.

Believer’s In Christ are forgiven sinners. We do not live in sin. This means we do not practice sin but repent or turn away from sin. If we do sin, which happens from time to time, we have an advocate who has already forgiven us from our past, present and future sins – His name is Jesus.

If you sin you only need to agree that you sinned to Jesus and then repent or turn away from that sin. The Greek translation for “confess” is to agree. This is the only thing Jesus forgets – your confessed sin. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CONFESS YOUR SIN TO A PERSON. GOD IS ALL YOU NEED.

While this is true, sometimes it’s okay to make a public confession, but, that can be awkward. To wrap this up: Believe, Confess sin to Jesus/God/Holy Spirit, rest knowing that you are saved through belief In Christ, forgive others, by all means try to be at peace with all men, love your neighbor as yourself, share the life and times of Jesus!
