Loving Jesus

Matthew 10:37-39

“How much do you love Jesus? The person who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; the person who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And whoever doesn’t take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Anyone finding his life will lose it, and anyone losing his life because of Me will find it.”

One of the cornerstones of Christian living is dedication and love for our families. God, is a jealous God. Jesus desires for us to love Him more than our own families or anyone else in our lives.

God chose to provide us with mercy instead of condemning us to eternal darkness and separation from God. We all sinned and fell short of His glory along with Adam and Eve. God had to provide himself, as Jesus, the sacrificial lamb, because no human could ever achieve what only Jesus could which is atonement for all humans. Jesus is 100% God and 100% human.

Therefore, he alone removed the sins of the world. Now, all who believe In Jesus have had their sins forgiven for all time. When you sin as a believer In Christ, you just confess (agree) that you sinned against God and God immediately forgets that sin. Believers are different than those who live in sin, who never have been forgiven because of their rejection of Jesus.

Therefore, we are indebted to Jesus for eternity because God sacrificed Jesus as are substitution on the cross. No human being could offer this sacrifice to God because all humans are imperfect and not holy.

Only a perfect human could pay are sin debt in full and restore our broken relationship to Father God. That was Jesus, God’s Son and Co-Equal in heaven. Our Lord and Savior!

When you discover Jesus you surrender your old life to Him and begin eternal life In Christ. The old physical life has symbolically been eliminated (The Flesh and its sinful nature). The new life is hidden with Christ until He returns.

When Jesus returns, you will receive an impenetrable and immortal glorified perfect body (replacing the tainted sinful one) and your perfect spirit, that was hidden In Christ, will be matched with it right before Jesus in the twinkling of an eye – at the exact moment of our death In Christ.

If we are fortunate enough, we who are alive when Jesus returns will be caught up in the air with Him never experiencing a physical death. Take up your cross each day, trust me it’s only temporary. The cross represents living out the human experience with compassion and unconditional love for all humans.

He carried the sins of the world and dispersed of them once and for all. Isn’t that enough to make you want to give Him all of your love and devotion?
