Silence is Golden

We’ve all seen or know someone who prays out loud. To be honest it’s annoying and is just what the Pharisees used to do when Jesus was living in Israel. Corporate prayer is different and achieves a Christ centered goal.

I’m all for occasional corporate prayer. The way to reach the heart of the Lord is to pray in silence. First off, God already knows what you’re going to pray before you pray. Prayer is between you and God, it’s to strengthen your personal inward one on one relationship to God through Jesus.

When we pray in secret, God sees our humility and rewards us by answering all our prayers so long as it is according to His perfect will for our lives. Seriously, if God’s will for your life is for you to become wealthy or for you to discover the cure to cancer then He will accomplish this in your life.

God has a specific agenda for each person’s life. The problem is that most people reject Jesus and never experience His perfect plan. In other words their puzzle starts missing pieces. These people go their own way. The key to the Christian life is to focus on a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Me”. Read that verse ten times and memorize it! If you want to get close to God stop relying on people to direct your spiritual life.

Stop praying to be seen – the only person that needs to see your secret prayer life is Jesus!

“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.Matthew 6:6
