Who Are You Going To Follow?

Do you find yourself diving deeper into depravity, idolatry or being more and more focused on yourself? If you are in this predicament you are being given over to the flesh or worldly desires that conflict with the nature of God.

The New Hampshire Confession of Faith states, “Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth except his own voluntary refusal to submit to the Lord Jesus Christ, which refusal will subject him to an aggravated condemnation.”

Romans 2:15-16 “They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. If you do not believe me that death for those who reject Christ is instant and eternal torment, read the story of the rich man and Lazarus.

C.S. Lewis puts it this way, The man who loves only self is finally removed from all external grace toward what he desires: “And what he finds there is Hell “While it’s an uncomfortable subject, Hell needs to be discussed because it’s a real place for those who reject Jesus. A person who dies having rejected Jesus will stop by a place called Hades. Immediately there will be torment and inconceivable suffering.

There will be a thousand year reign with Christ and during this time there will be another opportunity to believe and follow Christ. Not for those already in Hades who are waiting for the final judgment. During the thousand year reign people will be born and have another opportunity to believe in Christ Jesus.

Satan is bound up during the thousand year reign, however, people still have free will to choose to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior or not to follow him. After the thousand year reign, Satan will be released into the world again to deceive all those he can deceive.

Finally, Jesus will reside over the final judgment when all those whose names are written in the Lambs Book of Life will be separated from all those who rejected Jesus as God.

Heaven will begin after this judgment – can you imagine a place with no sin? Meditate on this today.
