Humility

Me, Myself and I

All of us love attention and the feeling of being accepted by others. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be noticed for either working hard, doing well in school, raising a successful family or for any other righteous pursuit in life.

There is always someone who notices everything we do each moment of our brief life. Yes, Jesus! Followers of Christ rest safely in the palm of the hand of God.

The truth is that we do not have to impress anyone or clamor for attention because we are being rewarded by living in humility.

I’m not saying to become meaningless or non-existent in your daily walk with God. What I am saying is not to boast in anything, but if you do boast, boast about your life In Christ.

Jesus said, whatever you do work as if you are serving the lord, not men, for it is the lord who will reward you in heaven.

Remember, followers of Christ are the wealthiest, blessed people on the planet. We are well taken care of as Jesus has provided for all our needs. I said, needs, not wants; although if you delight yourself in the Lord, he will give you the desires of your heart.

Instead of turning the spot light on yourself, lift up a friend, neighbor, classmate, co-worker, family member or stranger by being kind and generous to them.

I know it’s tough to do this, but we have an example to follow and it is the life and times of Jesus. Think about Galatians 5:22 today.

It’s not about us, it’s all about Jesus!

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
