Your Calling In Christ

How does God appear to you? He appeared to Moses as the angel of the Lord in flames of fire within a bush at Horeb.

When God appears to you, how do you respond? Moses answered God with doubt saying, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

God calls upon his saints, those whom he chose prior to the foundation of the world, to Missions. We are God’s church or the body of Christ.

The church is not a building, it is a “liquid” church meaning that we get called to proclaim the life and times of Jesus to those who God has prepared for us to meet.

All of us have been called to do Missions work, locally for some, regionally for others and for those who receive a very special calling, globally.

The question is how do we react to God’s calling? Why me, I’m busy working, I’ve got a family, I have no resources – these are excuses.

Moses was not eloquent, in fact he needed a lot of polishing before speaking to authority such as Pharaoh in Egypt.

Here are some steps to take to get you ready for Missions:

1) Pray about your calling
2) Read the Bible
3) consult with members of the church
4) Read a book on Missions

There is no reason to worry because God has given each of us impenetrable spiritual gifts that enable us to carry out The Great Commission.

God told Joshua to be courageous several times knowing that He would never leave Joshua.

Trust me, God understands human frailty and knows that we need a great measure of Faith, Courage, Wisdom and Love.

What we need to do to get started serving the Lord through Jesus is to surrender the task to God first. Full trust in God means allowing His Spirit to consume your life. God’s providence in your life is your spiritual insurance.

The Holy Spirit of God, that is shared with Jesus and the same Spirit that indwells all believers In Christ, will inspire you to live out your true calling in life. This assignment is to share the Gospel and to make disciples of Christ before the Great and Awesome Day of The Lord.

You’re not alone and have great company surrounding you. There are three persons that will guide you in your Missions:

God the Father, Jesus His Son and Holy Spirit

God has provided all your needs according to his glorious riches In Christ.

All things work together for good to those who “Love” God who have been called for His purpose and will.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20
