Here Jesus tells us that Sardis has a reputation of being alive, but states they are in fact dead. He then tells them to “wake up”.
Sounds like the Pharisee’ of Jesus day.
Matthew 23:27, “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead man’s bones and everything unclean.”
2 Timothy 3:5, Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
Here’s the rub, there are deceitful gatherings today with wolves in sheep’s clothing. Avoid them like the pandemic y’all.
The good news is that Jesus says there are amongst them congregants that walk upright. They will walk with Jesus in white robes.
Matthew 10:32 reminds the Church at Sardis: “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”
Quite a wake up call, no pun intended.
Anyone out there listening who is walking in spiritual darkness need only to follow Jesus with 100% belief in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
Keeping it 100%
