Genesis 1:2 says that In the beginning…and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. This is where it all begins for our understanding into the Spirit of God, to most of us known as a member of the Trinity.
God can appear to us in any way he prefers. He appeared to Abraham, Moses, Gideon and the Apostles in various forms. The most familiar form? Yes, Jesus, who is God’s Son. After all, God had to appear to us in the form of a human being who was the sacrificial Lamb of God whose blood covered the sins for all who believe in Him.
Acts 1:8 Tells us, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Here, Jesus is speaking to the Apostles and letting them know that without the Spirit of God that they could not carry forth His Word to the world.
What we conclude from this is that the Holy Spirit or Comforter is co-equal to God, not the same as God and shared by Jesus and Father God. The Spirit is eternal and was not created, but always existed with the Father and the Son.
The Spirit guides us, can speak through us, comforts us, lives in the heart of all believers and directs us each day we follow Him closely.
You can pray to Holy Spirit and ask for his guidance, peace and joy in your life. The Spirit is God. The Father is God. Jesus is God, yet, there is only one God, amen.
Try not to dwell on that, trust me it can make you think about it all day. The bottom line is that Holy Spirit is always with the believers in Christ, surrender to His love and direction for your life.
Keeping it 100%
