God’s Character In Jesus

Moving on in 2020…

The passage below gives an amazing look into the character of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Yes, written from the perspective of Father God, these verses reveal God’s forgiveness, mercy and grace along with His promise to punish the guilty.

Paradise is where all followers of Christ first go followed by the judgement where we are all judged by God. Only then do we go to heaven. The sheep are separated from the goats.

The sheep are forgiven, but the goats are not because there is only one sin God cannot forgive which is not believing In Christ. Some will say, I believed you, but God will say, I never knew you. God knows our heart.

Exodus 34:4-7

So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up Mount Sinai early in the morning, as the Lord had commanded him; and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands.

Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.

Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”

How many times should we forgive?

The character of Jesus:

Slow to anger
Abounding only love
Long suffering

Everyone of us is entitled to make mistakes. The Lord forgives us each time we “agree” that we have sinned. The translation for the Greek word, confess, is to agree.

Matt 18:21-22

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

We will always sin from time to time. There are consequences to each sin, but agreeing to the sin in silent prayer or with another person eliminates that sin as God forgets you sinned. The only thing God forgets is a confessed sin.

Of course, avoid sin at all costs by Living By The Holy Spirit.
