Jesus, in Revelation, speaks of the seven stars and the seven golden lampstands in his right hand.
The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches. The seven golden lampstands are the seven churches.
To the Church in Smyrna…
Smyrna’ church congregation was afflicted and poor. The church was rich according to Jesus despite the state it was in at the time.
There were those who falsely said they were Jews, in reality they were of the church of Satan.
The test they would receive would put them through great suffering; however, Jesus said it would only last ten days. After, if they remain faithful, even to the point of death, they’d receive one of God’s rewards called The Crown of Life.
Yes, God stands ready to reward our faith both in heaven and on earth so long as we remain trustworthy and faithful through his cleansing of our souls.
God is merciful and has given us grace to overcome all his tests of our courage.
Jesus then tells the Smyrna faithful that whoever overcomes this trial will not be hurt at all by the second death.
The second death:
In Revelation 21:8 – the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, the murderers, the fornicators, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
So, stay faithful under trial knowing that Jesus tests all his children from time to time to teach or impart his wisdom on us.
Keeping it 💯
